!The Spanish Edition! Recipe of the Day: Pan con Tomate

Pan con Tomate is a very typical Spanish appetizer/snack and sometimes meal. Its origin is from Cataluña with its Catalan name of Pa amb Tomaquet.


Pan con Tomate

Ingredients:
-A loaf of bread
-2 large tomatoes
-2 garlic cloves
-Extra Virgin Oil
-Salt

Directions:
-Cut the load of bread in half and peel the garlic cloves.
-Rub one clove all over one of the "halfed" loaves and repeat with the other half.
-Cut the tomatoes in half and with all your might and rub it onto the bread until you are left with the skin. Repeat with the half.
-Drizzle the oil on the both loafs and sprinkle with salt to your desire.

Note: in Spain some put jamón serrano or a small omelette on the pan con tomate.
